Welcome to Kimbers Class

Welcome to Kimbers.  In our class we have Year 2 and Year 3 children.  We are taught by Mrs. Chevallier and Mrs. Pellow.

We also have Mrs. Chippendale and Mrs. Mobbs who help us.

Kimbers' class topic is 'An island home'.  We have been listening to stories, written by Mairi Hedderwick, about a little girl called Katie Morag.  Katie lives on a fictional island called Struay, off the coast of Scotland.

We have been working on 'Talk to Write' with the story 'Katie Morag delivers the mail' so that soon we can write our own Katie Morag stories.

We also have been looking at the real Scottish island of Coll, and finding the differences between human and physical features.  We are making a 3D model of the Isle of Coll.

In Science we are learning about rocks and soils.  We went into the school grounds to see what different rocks we could find, and in art we have sketched assorted rocks and pebbles.

In Numeracy we have been working with number patterns and sequencing.  We have also been making sequences for our friends to complete.
